More About University of Kerala:University of Kerala which was formerly known as the University of Travancore is located in Trivandrum, Kerala. It was established in 1937 by the Maharajah of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma ,who was also the first Chancellor of the university. Sir C. P. Ramaswami Iyer, the then Diwan(Prime Minister) of Travancore, was the first Vice-Chancellor.
At present, the university has over 150 affiliated colleges spread over Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha Districts and some parts of Pathanamthitta District.
